Peter Berg recently chatted with SCI FI Wire about a potential sequel to his hit blockbuster Hancock, which starred Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Jason Bateman. The director would gladly make a second film if the studio called for one, and he definitely has some ideas on where it should go story wise.

At the end of the first film, Will Smith's superhero character was revealed to be an immortal god who becomes vulnerable in the presence of his goddess companion (Charlize Theron). Berg wants to continue the mythology behind the characters, stating, "There might be another god out there. There might be another one." Berg also hopes to have the subplot of Jason Bateman's character carried throughout the new film, with him continuing to work on his charity campaign.

There is no telling when Berg and his cast will be able to get together for a sequel. When asked if it would be soon, Peter stated, "They'd like to fast-track it, but Will's busy, I'm pretty busy. We're excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don't feel a burning imperative to go right back into it."

The sequel to Hancock has not been greenlit at this time.
