According to Variety, New Regency and Peter Chernin recently picked up the screen rights to My Name Is Memory in a bidding war. The property is the first of a three-book series that was written by Ann Brashares.

The book was sold on the basis of a first novel that is going to be published next June by Riverhead Books (an imprint of Penguin Publishing). We open with the first book where the couple meets as college students. They come to find out that "their souls have been reincarnated over hundreds of years, but these soulmates keep losing each other." For some reason he remembers their past lives while she does not.

Chernin is presently attached to produce The Deep Blue Goodbye, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, for Fox.
