The creators of the upcoming horror flick, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, will next turn their twisted attention to the world of Peter Pan. Details of the project have now been revealed courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, with the horrifying take on the boy who never grew up now receiving the delightfully cheesy title, Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare. Which tells us all we need to know.

Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare is now in development, and while further details are being kept under wraps at this time, based on the general vibe of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, it’s not difficult to image what filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield and his team will concoct when it comes to transforming J. M. Barrie’s literary classic into a grim and gory B-movie wonder.

Written by Barrie, and adapted many times over, Peter Pan centers on a free-spirited and mischievous young boy who can fly and never grows up. Living his never-ending childhood on the mythical island of Neverland, Peter is the leader of the Lost Boys and spends his time with fairies, pirates, mermaids, Native Americans, and occasionally ordinary children from our world. Children who suddenly find themselves dragged off to Neverland...

When you think about it, turning the Peter Pan property into a creepy horror movie should be easy.

Before finding out exactly what Jagged Edge Productions has in store for Peter Pan and his Lost Boys, they will first destroy all of our childhoods with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey. Based about as loosely as you can be on the works of A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey will warp Pooh and Piglet as it transforms them into savage, feral killers.

As every child knows, Christopher Robin befriended Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, and their friends, playing games and also providing them with food. What we all don’t know, however, is that as he grew, these visits became more infrequent, as did the food supply, causing Pooh and the others to grow increasingly hungry and desperate.

But when Christopher goes off to college, his visits to the 100 Acre Wood stop completely, causing Pooh and Piglet to become feral and unhinged. Which sadly results in Eeyore being killed and eaten. Now, Christopher Robin has returned to the forest alongside his new wife, hoping to introduce her to his old friends. Unfortunately for them, Pooh and Piglet will not forgive that easily, with the pair going on a murderous rampage for human flesh as they antagonize a group of university girls who are occupying a rural cabin.

Directed and written by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, and starring Nikolai Leon as Christopher Robin alongside Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, Danielle Ronald, Natasha Tosini, May Kelly, Paula Coiz, Natasha Rose Mills as Jess, and Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell as Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet respectively, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey will now be released on February 15, 2023, for a one-night event and is coming soon to DVD and VOD worldwide.
