Disney invites audiences to return to Neverland in Peter Pan & Wendy, a live-action reimagining of the J.M. Barrie novel and the 1953 animated classic. Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.

Peter Pan & Wendy has amassed a stellar cast to bring the classic story of the boy who never grew up to life. The Disney live action outing stars Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore), Alexander Molony (The Reluctant Landlord), Ever Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter), Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish), Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering (A Discovery of Witches), Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker (House of Cards), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), and Jim Gaffigan (The Jim Gaffigan Show).

Directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon, The Green Knight) from a screenplay by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks (The Green Knight), and based on the novel by J. M. Barrie and the animated film Peter Pan, Peter Pan & Wendy counts Jim Whitaker (Pete’s Dragon) as a producer, with Adam Borba (A Wrinkle in Time), Thomas M. Hammel (Thor: Ragnarok), and Toby Halbrooks serving as executive producers.

"I hesitate to use the word grounded because it has fairies and flying children in it,” director David Lowery said of his reimagining before comparing Peter Pan & Wendy to gritty Oscar darling The Revenant. “But when I went to talk to the studio about it I was like 'What if we stay true to the original material, remove the problematic elements of both the novel and the animated film of course, but then treat it like The Revenant. What if we made The Revenant with flying kids?' And they were into it. It's not 100% like that but it's sort of the ethos by which we've gone about making it....That was sort of the idea, have it be visceral, have it be grounded, it's still joyful, it's still full of exuberance and magic, so that's why I don't like to use the word 'grounded.'"

Peter Pan & Wendy is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 28, 2023.
