Peter Sarsgaard, Regina King, John C. Reilly, and Laura Dern are set to star in the new comedy, Year of the Dog for Paramount Pictures.

The film, written and directed by School of Rock's Mike White, centers around Peggy (Molly Shannon, who's already attached), a happy-go-lucky secretary who lives alone with her beloved dog Pencil. The Hollywood Reporter adds when Pencil unexpectedly dies, Peggy embarks on a journey of transformation.

Year of the Dog starts shooting next month in Los Angeles; a 2007 release has been set.
