Earlier today, Disney debuted a new poster for their upcoming remake Pete's Dragon, along with news that the full trailer will debut tomorrow. Star Bryce Dallas Howard will debut the new footage on Access Hollywood, but for those who can't wait another day, a brief trailer teaser has arrived. This footage gives us a closer look at Oakes Fegley as Pete, along with his mighty dragon Elliott as the beast takes flight.

Disney debuted the first trailer in February, during ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 TV special. Disney also previewed this remake during their CinemaCon presentation in April, but we don't know if this new trailer will be the same as the footage shown at the convention. Pete's Dragon could be one of this summer's last big hits at the box office, opening in theaters August 12, going up against Sony's Sausage Party, Universal's Spectral and Paramount's Florence Foster Jenkins.

Pete (Oakes Fegley) is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales...Until she meets Pete.

And from Pete's descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham's stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon. Pete's Dragon also stars Karl Urban, Craig Hall, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Marcus Henderson.

David Lowery (Ain't Them Bodies Saints) directs Pete's Dragon from a script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks, based on a story by Seton I. Miller and S.S. Field. Jim Whitaker (The Finest Hours, Friday Night Lights) produces with Barrie M. Osborne (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Great Gatsby) serving as executive producer. Take a look at the new Pete's Dragon trailer preview below, and be sure to check back tomorrow for the full trailer.
