Last week, Disney revealed the first motion poster for their upcoming remake of Pete's Dragon, which is set to hit theaters on August 12. It was also revealed that the first trailer will debut during ABC's new special The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60, which aired earlier tonight. In case you missed the special, we have the full trailer right here for your viewing pleasure.

Disney's Pete's Dragon is a reimagining of the studio's cherished family film. The story follows the adventures of a boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon. The movie stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford. Pete's Dragon also stars Oakes Fegley as Pete, along with Wes Bentley, Karl Urban and Oona Laurence. The film, which is directed by David Lowery, is written by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks based on a story by Seton I. Miller and S.S. Field.

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales. Until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley).

Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete's descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham's stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 will not only bring the first teaser trailer for Pete's Dragon, but acclaimed actor Harrison Ford, who portrays Han Solo in the Star Wars film franchise, will give viewers an exclusive preview of Star Wars-themed lands being developed at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Derek Hough will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The special airs on Sunday, February 21 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Take a look at the full Pete's Dragon trailer below, to get ready for its release on August 12.
