Philip Railsback, the late writer of Universal's upcoming drama Flash of Genius, will have one of his final scripts brought to the screen by his actor-director brother Steve Railsback: the darkly comic drama Barstow, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Keith Carradine and Scott Wilson are attached to play supporting roles in the Monterrey Pictures Entertainment feature, which follows three desperate characters, one of whom finds hope in a small, depressed town.
The late scribe, who died three years ago, wrote Barstow 10 years ago after living among poor residents of the eponymous California town. Three of his other scripts are in development at various studios.
No production date has been set.
