Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff 'Swampy' Marsh have officially signed on to write the upcoming Phineas and Ferb movie. We first reported on this project back in January.

The deal was part of a package that also renewed the creators' overall deals with Disney to continue working on the Phineas and Ferb TV series, which airs on the Disney Channel. Also included was a commitment to a new script by Dan Povenmire and Jeff 'Swampy' Marsh, which is likely a spin-off of Phineas and Ferb.

The deal comes just weeks after the TV movie Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension became the most-watched cable movie of the year, drawing in 7.6 million viewers.

It isn't clear when Disney is eyeing to start production on the Phineas and Ferb movie, or when it may be released.
