Picturehouse has acquired the U.S. rights to La Vie En Rose, the dramatic real-life story of French chanteuse Edith Piaf starring Marion Cotillard (Ridley Scott's A Good Year, A Very Long Engagement), as Piaf, and Gerard Depardieu as Louis Leplée, says Variety.

The film follows Piaf's rise from the slums of Paris to the limelight of New York all the while struggling with her passionate romances and relationships with some of the greatest names of that time.
