Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis has signed on to write the fantasy thriller Pied Piper for 20th Century Fox.
The reimagining of the Pied Piper tale has not yet found a director.
The story of the Pied Piper is a legend concerning the departure or death of a great many children from the town of Hamelin, Germany, in the Middle Ages. The earliest references describe a piper, dressed in pied (multicolored) clothing, leading the children away from the town never to return.
