According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Pierce Brosnan has filed an emergency temporary restraining order against a 55-year-old woman who he claims has allegedly been living out of her car, parked outside his Malibu beach home. The situation got to the point where the James Bond actor had to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department twice to try and remove the woman from his property. In the filing, Brosnan says, "she has been stalking me and my family," and is asking a judge for protection not only for himself, but for his wife Keely, and his two sons Dylan and Paris.

It appears the police were unable to arrest the woman for simply staying outside the actor’s home and advised him to file a civil restraining order. If the person continues to loiter outside his house, they can then be booked on charges for not following the court's order to stay away. Pierce describes the unnerving situation in detail, saying,

"She originally said she was looking for Dick Van Dyke (she has a tattoo of him on her arm) but when she found me and my family, she stayed in front of our house. She gave me two odd notes, said she needed $1,500 for new tires, and gave me a drawing she did of me."

Brosnan was granted an emergency restraining order by an L.A. judge, including the person being told she can't contact him "directly or indirectly" or "harass" him in any way. The woman was ordered to stay 400 yards away from Pierce's beach house, and any job or school connected to the children. A formal hearing is set for October 25, 2022, to argue for an extensive restraining order lasting 3-5 years.

The price of fame can be costly or at the very least, quite annoying. Basic trips to places like a grocery store or just walking outside the home could and have led to deadly encounters in the past. In one rare example, Selena Gomez’s stalker seemed to realize he was doing wrong and urged her to restrain him.

“I believe that a restraining order should be issued against me to prevent me from trying to contact Selena Gomez. I do not wish to object to the restraining order against me because I know it is the only thing that will make me stay away from Selena.''

My Sister Sam actress Rebecca Schaeffer and singer John Lennon were not so lucky. Schaeffer’s young life was cut short in 1989 when her stalker Robert John Bardo shot and killed her in the doorway of her apartment as she answered the door. In 1980, the world was shocked to its core when former Beatle John Lennon was shot and killed in front of his New York City apartment by his stalker, Mark David Chapman. Fortunately, most celebrity stalkings do not end in death.
