Blu-ray might have a lot of backing from manufacturers but it's technical woes appear far from over.

In a story from Home Media Retailing, Pioneer Electronics Corporation announced on Tuesday that the company was postponing "this month's launch of its $1,500 BDP-HD1 Blu-ray Disc player until September."

In a notice on it's web site, Sony has very "quietly pushed back the launch of its $1,000 BDP-S1 player from July until Aug. 15."

On a more positive note the studio did confirm last week that Hitch, the first disc to bow in the Blu-ray format will meet it's June 20th release date.
