Much as Walt Disney did with the second two sequels Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Hitfix has learned exclusively that the next two installments of the franchise after Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will also shoot back-to-back.

The cast and crew have reportedly been told to set aside a major block of time in the very near future so that both Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Pirates of the Caribbean 6 can be completed as one giant movie that will be split into two parts.

As Hitfix states, Johnny Depp is locked in for both The Lone Ranger and Dark Shadows for 2011, so that brings into question when these next two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels will actually kick into gear. Expect to hear more about this continuing franchise in the very near future.
