Pirates of the Caribbean fans really want Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow. The actor was reportedly ousted from the role last year, but Disney and Depp have yet to publicly discuss the matter. Original Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriter Stuart Beattie has strongly hinted that Depp will no longer be involved with the franchise going forward. Beattie said, "I think he's had a great run," when talking about the actor's take on Captain Jack Sparrow. As with most things people don't agree with these days, a few petitions have been started to get Depp back.

One of the petitions to bring Johnny Depp back to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has well over 13,000 signatures, as of this writing. As for the reasoning behind the petition, it's brief mission statement reads they want Depp back "because he made the films extra fun and I just can't think about a Pirates 6 without Johnny Depp." Some people have left comments standing up for the actor and one claims he has been "demonized" by the entertainment industry.

The other petition has just around 5,000 signatures, but it has a bit more of a detailed mission statement on why Johnny Depp should be back as Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, which starts to go into the actor's "personal issues." Depp has been going through a lot over the past few years and in a very public way. His divorce to actress Amber Heard has brought up multiple allegations of domestic violence against the actor, among other things that don't paint him in the very best light.

It is believed that the domestic abuse allegations are the main reason for Disney parting ways with Johnny Depp. That has yet to be confirmed, but it is logical, especially after seeing James Gunn get the axe for some old terrible tweets. Whatever the case may be, Depp's fans don't seem to care about the allegations and are ready to see the actor suit up as Captain Jack Sparrow again. Disney might also be looking for a fresh start after Dead Men Tell No Tales tanked at the box office. Regardless, it doesn't look like he's going to be coming back.

Johnny Depp's abuse allegations were a problem for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald with Harry Potter fans demanding that the studio remove the actor from the movie. He obviously stayed on board, but the movie may have suffered for letting Depp keep his role. With that being said, there are still a lot of people who want to see Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow and these petitions are proof of that. But, are they going to reach Disney and go viral like other recent petitions? Probably not, so it's probably a good idea to start getting used to a new actor or actress taking on the role.
