It seems that the next time we will see Captain Jack Sparrow on the high seas next summer, we'll be seeing him in all three dimensions. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be shot in 3D.

It was said that Disney chariman Rick Ross made the decision today and, despite the decision, the film's already-set release date of May 20, 2011 will not be changed. We previously reported a few weeks ago that Disney debunked the rumors that they were cutting costs on the film and that report also indicated that they still hadn't made the decision whether or not to shoot in 3D or not, a decision that was apparently made today.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as soon as we have more information.
