P.J. Hogan has agreed to direct the children's mystery film, Chasing Vermeer for Warner Bros. Pictures.

It's an adaptation of Blue Balliett's best-selling kids book, which Plan B will be producing. The Hollywood Reporter describes the film as a The Da Vinci Code for tweens and a mystery adventure that revolves around a boy and girl who attend the University of Chicago's Laboratory Schools, a school for the gifted. The two sixth graders team to solve the theft of a painting by 17th century painter Johannes Vermeer.

No cast or production schedule has been set for Chasing Vermeer.
