A dream role for Drew Barrymore would be to co-star alongside Cameron Diaz in a remake of the classic Thanksgiving comedy Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Written and directed by the legendary John Hughes, Planes, Trains and Automobiles starred Steve Martin and John Candy as a pair of unlikely travel partners switching through different modes of transportation with the hopes of getting the former home in time for Thanksgiving dinner. She also says she'd previously spoken about the concept with Sandler, suggesting she's been thinking about the potential reboot for a while.

Insisting she play a new incarnation of Del Wilkes, Barrymore added, "But also... I want to play John Candy."

"Well... you could do a good Candy," Sandler responded.

While Smith has endured some controversy this year, there's no indication at this time that the project has folded, though it's unclear what the current status is of the film.

"Me and [Will Smith] have been talking about doing a movie for the longest time and we just [couldn't] put our finger on what that movie was. So, for us to get to a point where we agree that said material was our project -- because our personalities not only fit, but we could really pop in this situation -- it was just a no-brainer," Hart later said of why he wanted to make the movie with Smith.
