Plum Pictures is set for a bigscreen adaptation of Curtis Sittenfeld's novel American Wife, about a presidential First Lady with a strong resemblance to Laura Bush.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on Alice Blackwell, a quiet woman who married a charismatic scion of a political family.
Plum exec Daniela Taplin noted that it's a perfect vehicle for a strong leading actress.
