Ever since the Point Break remake was announced, we learned that this new version of Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 classic will still feature Johnny Utah and Bodhi, only this time the story will be set within the world of extreme sports, not just surfing. The first poster released back in May featured a skydiver chasing after a huge pile of money, but today, Warner Bros. released a new one-sheet that brings the remake back to its roots, showcasing the new Utah (Luke Bracey) and Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez) riding a massive wave. The original poster came just one day before the first trailer arrived, so that could mean the second trailer is just around the corner.

In the fast-paced, high-adrenaline Point Break, a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes - led by the charismatic Bodhi (Édgar Ramírez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a spate of crimes in extremely unusual ways. Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes. The supporting cast includes Teresa Palmer, Ray Winstone, Delroy Lindo and Tobias Santelmann.

The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by elite athletes representing the world's best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling. Renowned extreme athletes performing stunts in the film include surfers Laird Hamilton, Sebastian Zietz, Makua Rothman, Billy Kemper, Brian Keaulana, Ahanu Tson-dru, Ian Walsh, Laurie Towner, Dylan Longbottom, Albee Layer, Bruce Irons, Tikanui Smith and Tuhiti Humani; snowboarders Xavier De Le Rue, Louis Vito, Christian Haller, Lucas DeBari and Ralph Backstrom; skateboarders Bob Burnquist and Eric Koston; motorcyclists Riley Harper and Oakley Lehman; wingsuit stunt pilots Jon Devore, Julian Boulle, Noah Bahnson, Jhonathan Florez and Mike Swanson, and consultant Jeb Corliss; and free climber Chris Sharma, among others.

Along with this new poster, Warner Bros. has also released a new featurette, which takes fans behind-the-scenes with stars Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez. We also hear from surfer Laird Hamilton, who actually worked on the original Point Break, while director Ericson Core reveals the remake features big-wave surfing with some of the biggest waves in the world. We also get a behind-the-scenes look at how the production employed underwater camera operators to capture this incredible surfing action.

Ericson Core (Invincible) directs from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Total Recall). The remake hits theaters on Christmas Day, going up against 20th Century Fox's Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip and Joy, Sony's Concussion, Paramount's Daddy's Home and Open Road Films' Snowden, along with The Hateful Eight and The Revenant in limited release. Do you think this action-thriller can hold its own in this competitive holiday weekend? Check out the featurette and poster and let us know what you think.
