A few weeks ago, Lionsgate announced that it was delaying their epic Power Rangers Movie reboot, pushing it all the way back to January 2017. Production is still a ways off, but that doesn't mean the studio isn't already planning ahead. New concept art has leaked online. It reportedly shows off the Pink and Red Zords to be used in the impending blockbuster. But if you don't like the look of these new Zords, not to worry. Lionsgate has not confirmed that these are the real deal.

The concept art in question shows off the Pink Ranger's Pterodactyl Zord. It is also accompanied by a first look at the Red Ranger's Zord, which is speculated to be a Tyrannosaur. But that has not been confirmed by anyone even remotely involved with the film's production. And is purely a guess based on the image itself. It is not known where these images originated, or the artist responsible for them. It's possible that Lionsgate and Saban leaked these images themselves, to test fan waters and how the project is being accepted by fans. Internet feedback at these early stages is now seen as important by most studios as they set out to recreate any given franchise that is extremely popular. They want to bring something new to the fans. At the same time, they don't want to alienate those fans.

In the Power Rangers universe, Zords are colossal mechanical or bio-mechanical robots piloted by the Rangers. The Zords come in many different forms. Some take the form of animals, both current, mythical, and extinct. Some of them are humanoid in appearance, such as the Shogunzords and Super Zeo Zords and others simply look like giant vehicles or other traditional machines. As you can see here, this new reboot is trying to capture the imagination of the Jurassic World crowd:
