Lionsgate announced last month that the studio is teaming up with Saban Entertainment for a new Power Rangers movie, based on the hit 1990s TV series Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. While no casting has been announced at this time, actor Jason David Frank, who played The Green Ranger on the original series, released the following photo on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, teasing a "special appearance} at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 with Lionsgate and Saban Entertainment.

It isn't known if this "special appearance" will be the first footage from the reboot, although since no cast members have been announced, it's possible that Lionsgate will reveal the cast at SDCC. The project doesn't have a director attached at this time, but an unconfirmed report from last month revealed that Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis is working on the script.

Haim Saban, Jim Miller and Allison Shearmur are producing for Lionsgate, with the new project set to re-envision the Power Rangers, described as, "a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world."
