The praise for the latest installment in the Predator franchise, Prey, continues to role in as star of the very first Predator outing Bill Duke has taken to social media to welcome Prey star Amber Midthunder to the family. "Have you checked out the #PreyMovie on @hulu, if not do watch it,” Duke said via his official Twitter account. “It's an amazing film and @AmberMidthunder is phenomenal. This young woman has a bright career ahead of her. As @GovJVentura mentioned…welcome to the #Predator Family. "I see you." #Success #Blessings" he added.

Bill Duke, who starred in Predator way, way back in 1987 as the dry-shaving (despite the fact he does not have a beard) machine gunner expert Sergeant Mac Eliot, is not the first of the original Predator gang to heap praise on both Prey and its star. Wrestling legend Jesse Ventura, who starred alongside Bill Duke and Arnold Schwarzenegger as heavy-gunner Blain Cooper, has also made his feelings known on social media recently. And he is feeling very good about everything to do with Prey.

"#PreyMovie Great, great, film. @AmberMidthunder you definitely ain't got time to bleed,” Ventura’s review begins. “Welcome to the Predator family. @DannyTRS Thank you for making a such a thoughtful, creative, and wonderful film.” Dan Trachtenberg has since responded to Ventura’s digital applause saying, “I just... I don't know how to.. thank you @GovJVentura! Im on the floor. Thank you sir! Thanks for watching and so glad you appreciated what we did!!"

Prey Currently Stands at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes

Amber Midthunder in Prey

Prey has seemingly done what many thought impossible, turning around the critical consensus that has plagued the Predator franchise. Since the release of the first outing, which is rightly considered an action sci-fi classic, the long-running franchise quickly sank lower and lower. But, things have now changed thanks to Prey, which currently stands at a deliciously fresh 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. “The rare action thriller that spikes adrenaline without skimping on character development, Prey is a Predator sequel done right,” the critics consensus reads.

Starring Amber Midthunder, Prey explores the first time a member of the alien hunter race came to Earth. Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey tells the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people.

The installment is expected to launch Amber Midthunder straight onto the A-list, with Predator fans hoping for many more adventures to come for the iconic movie monster. In fact, many have already taken to social media to reveal what they would like to see next for the Predator. Here’s a hint, it includes Mortal Kombat star Hiroyuki Sanada as a monster-slaying samurai.

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison, and starring Dakota Beavers, Michelle Thrush, Stormee Kipp, Julian Black Antelope, and Dane DiLiegro alongside Amber Midthinder, Prey is now available to stream on Hulu.
