We have an exclusive clip from Nicolas Cage's Primal. The movie has been gaining momentum, thanks to Nicolas Cage's unhinged performance. Cage has been keeping up his reputation for going off the rails in his most recent roles and fans are loving it, which means that checking out Primal is a must. The actor recently sat down for an interview to promote the movie and admits that some real-life experience informed his role. You can check out the exclusive clip below.

As the Primal trailer suggests, the movie puts the focus on Frank Walsh (Nicolas Cage), a hunter and collector of rare and exotic animals. He ends up bagging a priceless white jaguar for a zoo and he figures it'll be smooth sailing to a big payday. But the ship bearing Frank's precious cargo has two predators caged in its hold: the cat, and a political assassin being extradited to the U.S. After the assassin breaks free - and then frees the jaguar - Frank feverishly stalks the ship's cramped corridors in hot pursuit of his prey, right up until the thrilling, unpredictable climax.

Nicolas Cage is a different kind of big game hunter in Primal and soon becomes the hunted. There are some memorable lines from Cage too and one that stands out is, "If you kill my cat, I'll blow your head off." Speaking of cats, the actor was able to tap into his childhood for his role as Frank Walsh. He explains.

"I remember once when I was a child, I was attacked by a black cat. Just went at me. I was walking home, and this cat, it came out of nowhere and it was terrifying. Of course, this was just a small cat, I was probably 8 years old. But I definitely thought about that in my imagination when we're being confronted by the jag in the movie, trying to recall those memories."

Primal features Nicolas Cage (Mandy, Raising Arizona), Famke Janssen (X-Men Franchise), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), LaMonica Garrett (Sons of Anarchy) and Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos). As for the jaguar in the movie, there is no real animal. Instead, Cage's main co-star is made up from CGI, though the actor would love to one day work with a jag. The movie is directed by Nick Powell (Resident Evil: Retribution) and written by Richard Leder (The Suspect).

Lionsgate released the action/crime film, Primal in theaters and on demand on November 8th. So far, the response has been positive for the movie and especially Nicolas Cage's performance. When asked about taking on the role, Cage revealed that he did so in order to work with director Nick Powell. "He's someone I enjoyed working with on Outcast, which we were both unhappy with the way it was deployed and ultimately taken away from us," says Cage. Well, he got his wish with Primal, which is now tearing up theaters and homes with a CGI jaguar. As with anything he does, Cage aimed for an authentic fun experience and it certainly looks like he achieved his goal.
