Gotham-based distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories will teaming up with Specialty Films to develop and produce a feature documentary based on the Mark Harris' 2008 book Pictures at a Revolution: Five Movies and the Birth of the New Hollywood, according to Variety.

Marina Zenovich will direct the documentary.

Pictures at a Revolution: Five Movies and the Birth of the New Hollywood chronicles the production and release of the five best picture nominees for the 1967 Oscar: Bonnie and Clyde, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?, In The Heat Of The Night, The Graduate and Dr. Dolittle. (In The Heat Of The Night won.)

The book and the upcoming film peg the year as the start of the golden age of 1970s American film.
