The Harold and Kumar sequel has begun shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana with Mandate Pictures and New Line Cinema producing.

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are writing and directing the comedy. Variety adds Eric Winter is joining John Cho and Kal Penn in the film; he'll play a politician's son who is engaged to Kumar's ex-girlfriend.

The Harold and Kumar sequel has a 2008 release scheduled.
