Lionsgate has set a limited December 17th release for its drama Rabbit Hole, starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart, according to Variety.

The early debut positions the film for an awards-qualifying run, before continuing a limited roll out Christmas Day and then wide Jan. 14.

Rabbit Hole is based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning play by David Lindsay-Abaire, who also penned the script. Rabbit Hole tells the story of parents (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart), struggling to cope with the death of their four-year-old son.
