It's official: Randall Park will return as Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Previously, Park debuted as the fan favorite character in the Ant-Man sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp, which hit theaters in 2018. More recently, he reprised the role in last year's WandaVision. It seemed to be a matter of time before we saw Agent Woo again, and though an appearance in Ant-Man 3 seemed likely, it hadn't been officially confirmed.

During the Marvel Studios panel at Disney's D23 Expo, it was confirmed that Park will indeed be back in Quantumania. Last year, the actor had cast some doubt on his return, stating to Extra at the time that hadn't "gotten the call" yet to make an appearance. The character had a resurgence in popularity when he returned in WandaVision which had some fans calling for the two to get their own X-Files style spinoff series.

"I think he will be coming back at some point, but I can't guarantee that," Park said of Woo's return in October 2021. "That would be a blast [to do a spinoff series]. I just love playing the character. I love the fact that he is such a sweet person. I think the world needs more of that."

Park has been keeping busy in the meantime, as he's also set to appear in the upcoming films Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Strays. The actor also stars in Netflix's upcoming sitcom Blockbuster which is set in the final Blockbuster Video location that's still in operation in the United States. Meanwhile, Park's voice can also be heard in the upcoming HBO Max animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai.

The cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also includes Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, and Jonathan Majoras as Kang the Conqueror. Bill Murray also makes his Marvel Cinematic Debut in the film in an undisclosed role.

Peyton Reed directs the film using a screenplay by Jeff Loveness. Reed previously teased, via Access, that the film will forever change the course of the MCU. How that happens remains to be seen, but the filmmaker has referred to the process as "really exciting."

“Kicking off Phase 5 is really exciting for us, because, we’re the Ant-Man movies," he said. "It’s our third movie. It’s this trilogy now. But things happen in this movie that are going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe permanently. And it’s fun for us that Scott Lang is at the center of that change.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released in movie theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
