It was the little rat that could... sell a lot of DVD's.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ratatouille took the top spot on the sales chart after its first week in DVD release, the week ending on November 11. The animated hit breezed by the competition, outselling last week's winner, Spider-Man 3, by 40%. Spider-Man 3 dropped to the 3rd spot this week, while another DVD newcomer, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, took the 2nd spot in sales. Deck the Halls, another new release, slid into the 5th spot on the sales charts.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry did end up taking the top rental spot, with an estimated $9.3 million worth of rentals. Spider-Man 3 was second in rentals with $8 million and the sales winner Ratatouille took the bronze in rentals with $7.6 million, with Deck the Halls in fourth with $6.2 million.

On the hi-def side, it was another victory for Transformers which led the HD-DVD sales yet again and Ratatouille took the Blu-Ray crown for the week.
