Ratatouille took the top spot at the international box office this weekend. According to Variety, the film made $19.7 million playing on 3,010 screens in 38 different markets. So far, the movie has pulled in a total of $247 million overseas. It should top out at $300 million by the end of its run.

Resident Evil: Extinction and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry managed to make it into the second and third spot this weekend with $8.6 million and $6.7 million respectively. The Heartbreak Kid took the number one spot in the U.K., something it didn't managed to achieve here in the states. It also opened well in Russia, where they love a raunchy joke or two. The film made a little more than $2.5 million.

A couple of prestigious art pictures opened well overseas as well. Eastern Promises and Michael Clayton attracted healthy audience in both Spain and the U.K. While Ang Lee's Lust, Caution brought in an estimated $4.9 million in its homeland of Taiwan.
