Filming is underway for the second season of Reacher. Earlier this year, Reacher premiered its first season on Prime Video to incredible success, setting new viewership records at the streaming platform and garnering very high scores from critics. It was no surprise when Amazon ordered another season of the series, eager to bring back Alan Ritchson as the titular hero for more compelling action.On Friday, the official Twitter account for Reacher shared the first image from the set of season 2, revealing that filming has officially started. In the image, Ritchson can be seen beaming in his Jack Reacher wardrobe as he holds a slate noting that it's his first day shooting on the new episodes. You can see the Twitter post below.

Reacher, based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Childs, was developed as a TV show for Prime Video by Nick Santora. Starring Alan Ritchson as a former military cop battling dangerous criminals, the series also stars Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, and Maria Sten.

It was recently reported that season 2 will also bring in Serinda Swan (The Inhumans) as Karla Dixon, a member of the Army Special Investigators unit; Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman) as A.M., a mercenary; and Rory Cochrane (Winning Time) as former detective Shane Langston. Other newcomers include Shaun Sipos, Domenick Lombardozzi, Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, Josh Blacker, and Al Sapienza.

The logline for season 2 reads:

“When the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead, Reacher has just one thing on his mind – revenge.”

Reacher Season 2 Is Based on Lee Childs' Bad Luck and Trouble

It was previously revealed that the second season of Reacher would be based primarily on the 2009 book Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th installment of the Jack Reacher series. In May, Ritchson posted an image to Twitter showcasing brass knuckles that book readers will know is a reference to Bad Luck and Trouble. He followed that up with another post explaining the reference and including a photo of himself holding the book.
