Horror legend Tobin Bell is in a new horror genre film called ReBroken, which has an official trailer you can view ahead of its release next month. From Gravitas Ventures, the movie will be released on digital platforms on March 7, 2023. Bell, who is particularly well known for his role as Jigsaw in the Saw movies, can be seen in the new trailer, which you can check out below.
Bell joins Scott Hamm Duenas (Evil at the Door, General Hospital) for the cast of the film. ReBroken also stars Kipp Tribble, Alison Haislip, Nija Okoro, Kenny Yates, Richard Siegelman, Blake Koren, and Billy Walker. The film is written by Kipp Tribble and Scott Hamm Duenas and directed by Kenny Yates, who makes his directorial debut with the film.
“It was a fun challenge to construct the pieces of this puzzle during the development and scripting stages,” Tribble said of the film, via Rue Morgue. “Even if at times it made our brains hurt. And it has been exciting to see the fantastic ideas that Kenny and Nate Stifler, our director of photography, brought to the project.”
Hamm continued, “I’ve always been a huge fan of psychological thrillers. Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite movies and I just love the genre. I’m beyond grateful to be a part of this film as both an actor and a producer. We’ve assembled such an incredible team of people both behind and in front of the camera. Getting to work alongside a pro like Tobin Bell, as well as up-and-coming stars like Nija Okoro, is truly an honor and I can’t wait for people to see this film.”
The official synopsis for ReBroken is as follows:
Will is a devastated father who spends his time between court-ordered grief counseling drinking himself into oblivion. He repeats the cycle of despair every day with no plans to stop, until he meets a mysterious stranger who gives him some old vinyl recordings. After Will listens to the records, he suddenly starts receiving messages from his recently deceased daughter. As the communications from his daughter grow more and more frequent, Will becomes convinced that these recordings hold the answer to bring his daughter back from the dead. But just as he is closing in on the truth, he starts to suspect that his counseling group has ulterior motives. After the stranger disappears, Will races against time to find him so he can get the last recording, or his chance to bring his daughter back might be gone forever.
ReBroken Recruits Tobin Bell
The trailer arrives after Bell recently revisited his role in the Saw franchise. He was on set for Saw X, the tenth installment of the series, to reprise his role as Jigsaw. That film is getting a theatrical release this October. Meanwhile, Bell has appeared in a slew of other genre films in recent years, including Gates of Darkness, The Call, and Aileen Wuornos: American Boogeywoman. He is attached to many upcoming films as well, including Wolf Mountain, Awaken, and Ghostkiller.
