Summit Entertainment is moving forward with plans to make Red 3, just two months before Red 2 debuts in theaters on July 19.

Red and Red 2 writers Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber have been hired to write the third installment, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian producing through their Di Bonaventura Pictures company. No story details were given, although insiders claim that the sequel is moving forward largely thanks to the high test screening scores that Red 2 received.

There are no deals in place yet for cast members such as Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren, who starred in both Red and Red 2. However, insiders claim that if the screenplay is approved, production may start as early as January 2014.

Red,which followed a group of retired CIA agents who get back into action, earned $90 million at the domestic box office in 2010, and nearly $200 million worldwide.
