According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks Home Entertainment's Red Eye and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's Transporter 2, stormed to the Nos. 1 and 2 positions on the home video rental chart their first week in stores.
Neither title packed enough punch to unseat a raunchy comedy, New Line's Wedding Crashers, from the top spot on the preliminary national DVD sales chart.
Crashers remained at No. 1 on VideoScan's First Alert chart for the week ending Jan. 15, narrowly outselling second-place finisher Transporter 2, which generated $43.1 million in theaters. Red Eye finished a distant third, despite a higher boxoffice take of $57.9 million -- and a cast that includes red-hot Rachel McAdams, who also stars in Crashers.
