20th Century Fox as paid a whopping seven figures for the rights to Gillian Flynn's New York Times Bestseller Gone Girl, with Bruna Papandrea and Reese Witherspoon producing for Pacific Standard.

The story follows a woman who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary, and all signs point to her husband being the killer. Gillian Flynn is taking on screenwriting duties herself. The author currently has three bestsellers on the list all at once, and has two other movie deals currently in the works.

It is not known at this time if Reese Witherspoon is setting up the project for herself to star in. And there is no word on who will direct the film, or when it will go before cameras. It won't likely hit screens until 2014.
