Now this is the type of film that needs to be remade. Something that nobody has seen before. Reese Witherspoon has signed up for a remake of the 1939 laugher Midnight. According to Variety, Oscar winning writer Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) will be doing the screenplay.

The original film starred Claudette Colbert as an impoverished waif living in Paris. An upstart businessman hires her to lure a male prostitute away from his wife.

Writer Michael Arndt stated that, "Midnight" has "long been one of my favorite films, and it is easily one of the best comedies of the '30s. Being given the chance to update the film with Reese in the lead is simply a dream come true."

This will not be the next film that Reese Witherspoon makes. She is eyeing a couple of other projects before jumping into this one.
