Reese Witherspoon has been set to star in the adaptation Three Little Words, a project which reunites the actress with her Walk the Line director, James Mangold.

The project is adapted from Ashley Rhodes-Courter's memoir, which chronicles her true story about her childhood spent in and out of foster care, starting at just four years of age. Reese Witherspoon is playing a Florida volunteer who develops a relationship with the young girl, nine years after she first entered the system. The volunteer embarks on a search for the girl's biological mother to give up her parental rights so the teen can start a new life.

Amanda Seyfried is in early talks to play the girl's biological mother, but a deal hasn't been reached at this time. Lewis Colick (The Fighter) and Michael Petroni (The Rite) are writing the screenplay adaptation, with James Mangold, Cathy Konrad, Jami Gertz, Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Riva Marker and Daniel Crown producing. No production schedule was given.
