Rege-Jean Page, the 34-year-old Bridgerton season one fan-favorite, is reportedly in discussions with the powers-that-be for a return in season three. The English actor had previously compared leaving the hit Netflix show to his last of school, explaining:

“You’re afraid of the unknown, thinking, ‘Oh, my God, I’m never going to make friends s good as the ones I have,’ and then you do.”

Indeed, he has. With a slate of other projects in the works, Page has formed a friendship with This Is Us favorite Sterling K. Brown, who he describes as a mentor, and the British heartthrob has received a golden endorsement from former Goldeneye’s 007 agent Pierce Brosnan to pick up where Daniel Craig has left off. A source told The Sun newspaper:

“Rege-Jean was always very open about his intention to quit the show after the first season and to move on to other projects. But recently there has been a dialogue between him and the show’s bosses. Nothing has been formally agreed yet but watch this space. Things are very up in the air at the moment, but this will be an exciting year for Rege, without a doubt.”

James Bond Frontrunners Include Rege-Jean Page, Henry Cavill and One Unexpected Surprise?

Page’s portrayal as raffish bachelor Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, awarded him a legion of female fans who could not get enough of his rebellious character, not to mention his five-alarm fire love scenes. He is also on a list of other worthy actors to play the next James Bond. George Lazenby was 30, Sean Connery was 32, and Daniel Craig was 38 when they first took on the role of James Bond. If selected, he would also be a younger version of Bond, something the franchise hasn’t had in a while. Although Page has not headlined any major movie, like Brosnan (Remington Steele), he has proven his leading man skills on the small screen with Bridgerton.

Besides starring in films and television, Page is now the new face for Armani Code, the men’s fragrance franchise launched 18 years ago. In speaking of Page, famed fashion designer Giorgio Armani said,

“He authentically and spontaneously represents the cultural richness and vitality of this moment in time.”

In the Armani Code spot, where everything moves backward, people walk the wrong way around, clock hands circle counterclockwise and basketball players propel in reverse. Yet, Page moves forward, walking, then running, through streets, until he encounters a woman. They gaze intently at each other; there’s a glimpse of the Armani Code Parfum bottle, then the world is set on the right course again.
