Apparently love and technology do mix after all. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing findings from a recent NDS DVR study, a massive 79% of digital video recorder owners said the device has actually improved their romantic relationships.

The 1,000 people surveyed also said the technology ranked second highest in things they couldn't live without, second only to the cell phone. As far as non-tech household items, only the washing machine and microwave beat out the DVR.

"The results show how fast the DVR has become an indispensable part of many people's lives in the US," said Steve Tranter, vice president, broadband and interactive delivery, NDS Americas. "It's one of those technologies that, once you use it, it makes you wonder how you coped before."
