Relativity Media has inked a deal with Luc Besson's EuropaCorp to finance and produce mob story Malavita and action tale Three Days to Kill.

Malavita follows the Manzonis, a mafia family that gets relocated to Normandy, France under a witness protection program. The film is an adaptation of a Tonino Benacquista book titled Badfellas. Robert De Niro will be starring the film. Pre-production for the film begins in July.

Relativity Media's President Tucker Tooley has this to say about the project.

"With the pairing of Besson and De Niro, 'Malavita' is a great addition to our growing slate. We're thrilled to be getting into business with EuropaCorp on both films and the prospect of more in the future."

Three Days to Kill follows Secret Service Agent Ethan Runner, who discovers he is dying and decides to retire in order to reconnect with his family. The Secret Service offers him access to an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment. The script is written by Adi Hasak and Luc Besson.

Pre-production for Malavita begins in July.
