Yesterday, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter star Milla Jovovich shared the first photos from the Cape Town, South Africa set, which showed off some bloody neck wounds during the actress' makeup test. Earlier today, the actress shared yet another photo from her latest round of makeup tests on her Instagram page, which has makeup artist Christina Smith applying a large cut to the actress' cheek while her husband and director Paul W.S. Anderson looks on. Here's what the actress had to say on her Instagram page.

"More "Alice" make up tests with @christinaslashes and our director came in for a peek. ߘɰߒ#moreblood #hero #residentevilmovie #capetowndiary"

Production is slated to begin in South Africa later this week on Resident Evil 6, and we'll be sure to get an official update from Milla Jovovich through her social media channels, as soon as principal photography is under way. Production was actually slated to begin last summer, but filming was delayed due to Milla Jovovich's pregnancy. Milla Jovovich, of course, is reprising her role as Alice, which she has played since the franchise's first entry, 2002's Resident Evil.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter also brings a number of franchise favorites back for this last installment. Wentworth Miller is expected to reprise his role as Chris Redfield from Resident Evil: Afterlife, alongside Bingbing Li as Ada Wong, Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine), Spencer Locke (K-Mart), Shawn Roberts (Albert Wesker), and Johann Urb (Leon Kennedy) all set to return. Last month, we reported that Ali Larter will return to portray Claire Redfield, a role she played in 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction and 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Paul W.S. Anderson is directing from his own script, but no plot details have been given quite yet. While production was under way on the franchise's last installment, Resident Evil: Retribution, Milla Jovovich posted countless photos and videos from the set, and we expect her to do the same when principal photography gets under way here. Hopefully, she'll also share the first story details as well, but we'll have to wait and see.

While we wait for more images and video to come in, check out the latest photo from the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter set. Sony Pictures has already set a January 27, 2017 release date, which currently doesn't have any other movies slated for release, but that will surely change in the months to follow.
