Bloody Disgusting has exclusively learned that director Paul W.S. Anderson is returning to write and helm the fifth installment of the popular video game adaptation Resident Evil: Retribution.

Not only is he returning, he is bringing his wife, and star of the franchise, Milla Jovovich back for one more round as Alice. Sienna Guillory was supposed to come back as Jill Valentine, but word on the street is that she may be recast for this proposed prequel.

Casting is currently under way for the characters Barry Burton, a member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service), and Leon Scott Kennedy, a U.S. Government agent.

Paul W.S. Anderson is hoping to shoot Resident Evil: Retribution as early as this October, with plans to get it into theaters by September 14th of 2012.
