Maybe hard to believe, but it's been nearly two years since we last saw Leonardo DiCaprio on the big screen. His last theatrical performance was in the critical hit The Wolf of Wall Street, directed by Martin Scorsese. But he returns this Christmas in the long-awaited drama The Revenant! The first footage has arrived. And it promises to be another award-season hit for the particularly choosy actor.

New Regency and 20th Century Fox have just released an exclusive teaser trailer for the upcoming film, The Revenant, which is sure to get your heart pumping. The film features a terrific ensemble of talent, unheralded by most major motion pictures, proving this will truly be something special. Leonardo DiCaprio is joined on screen for the first time ever by acclaimed actor Tom Hardy, in a role that could garner him his first ever Academy Award nomination. The Revenant was shot this past January in Calgary, where the night temperatures average a low of 9 degrees. Alejandro González Iñárritu used only natural light in remote locations that have been left untouched by mankind. About the movie and his leading man, the director called Leonardo DiCaprio a brave and incredible actor. Alejandro González Iñárritu was often surprised by the depths to which Leonardo DiCaprio went in making this a visceral, real, gritty experience for the audience.
