Stargate: Continuum is getting a blast from the past.

According to Multichannel.com, it appears that Stargate SG-1's Richard Dean Anderson will be joining the cast of Stargate: Continuum.

According to MGM and the Sci-Fi Channel (which will be broadcasting Stargate: Continuum), Anderson will again playing the role of General Jack O'Neill.

Beginning next week Anderson as well as other cast members will begin principal photography in Alaska. Currently, "the production is working in collaboration with the U.S. Navy's Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station (APLIS)."

MGM is currently creating two Stargate movies for release on DVD and TV. The first one, titled Stargate: The Arc of Truth, will be using storylines from the show's 10th season. Stargate: Continuum is the second film in the pipeline.

The cast also includes "current regulars Beau Bridges (who essentially replaced Anderson as leader of the U.S. Air Force's off-world program) and Claudia Black."

Stargate SG-1 will continue it's last run of episodes April 13 on the Sci Fi Channel April 13.
