The next upcoming season of a popular HBO comedy will feature yet another celebrity guest appearance in its new season. Variety is reporting that HBO has confirmed Ricky Gervais will guest star in the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

It was said that Gervais will appear as himself in the eighth episode of the eighth season, but he wouldn't divulge any story details about the episode. The comedian did say it was, "an honor" to be a part of the series. The last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm featured members of the Seinfeld cast playing themselves.

The site also reported that HBO is close to greenlighting a new pilot from Gervais entitled Life's Too Short. BBC ordered the pilot in April and it was said that if the series would ever come to America, HBO would likely secure the rights to the series.

Gervais wrote the pilot with longtime collaborator Stephen Merchant and the series will examine the life of a dwarf actor, who will be played by Warwick Davis.
