Producer William Packer, who currently has two movies in the Top 10 at the box office with Ride Along and About Last Night, has set up his next project entitled Girls Trip at Universal Pictures.

Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man Holiday, Scary Movie V) is attached to direct, with the studio currently seeking a screenwriter for the project. No story details have been released at this time.

The news comes just weeks after William Packer set up a sequel to Ride Along, which has earned an impressive $123.1 million since its release in mid-January, after a record-breaking $48.6 million opening weekend over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Ride Along 2 will be next up for the producer, with production tentatively scheduled to begin in June or July. Tim Story is returning to direct from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, bringing the entire creative team from Ride Along back together for the sequel.

William Packer also has Think Like a Man Too opening in theaters June 20, and The Wedding Ringer, starring Kevin Hart, opening on January 16, 2015.
