Deadline is reporting that Ridley Scott is in early talks to direct Leonardo DiCaprio in Jordan Belfort's memoir, The Wolf of Wall Street.

Initially, it appeared that DiCaprio was going to make this film with Martin Scorsese.

Presently it looks like the actor and Scorsese will produce this film along with Ridley Scott's production entity, Scott Free. At present, The Wolf of Wall Street is "being figured out for budget and distribution."

However, Scott is said to be a fan of Terry Winter's (The Sopranos) script for the film. The story focuses on a stockbroker who manages a bunch of other brokers who used clients money to buy stocks that made the brokers a lot of money... but nobody else. Eventually these men were taken down by the FBI.
