The Rise of Skywalker will probably be the last time we see Mark Hamill involved with the Star Wars universe. The actor has revealed that he hopes the final installment in the Skywalker saga will also be his last outing while out promoting the Child's Play remake. 2015's The Force Awakens featured Hamill's Luke Skywalker at the very end of the movie for a few seconds and 2017's The Last Jedi killed the iconic character off. Things haven't exactly gone as Hamill initially thought they were going to go.

Mark Hamill has been vocal about disagreements pertaining to the Luke Skywalker character in the latest trilogy. However, that's not to say he doesn't still enjoy it and appreciate Star Wars fans from all over the world. Hamill just may be a little burnt out about having to discuss every little detail in depth on a daily basis. He had this to say when asked whether or not the upcoming Rise of Skywalker was his last outing with the franchise.

"I sure hope so... Well, because... I had closure in The Last Jedi. The fact that I'm involved in any capacity is only because of that peculiar aspect of the Star Wars mythology where if you're a Jedi, you get to come back and make a curtain call as a Force Ghost."

Much like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill might just be completely over the Star Wars franchise in general. Ford seems to have mellowed out about it since Han Solo was killed off in 2015, giving the actor something he has wanted since the early 1980s. As for Hamill, he's more connected to the fans on social media and witnesses aspects of toxic fandom nearly every day. While he is a social media master, he may be growing tired of it.

Since the original trilogy came to a close, Mark Hamill has become an in-demand voice actor. He has provided the voice of the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, along with other animated projects and even in the highly acclaimed Arkham video games, where his Clown Prince of Crime was really given a chance to shine. He voices the newly designed Chucky doll in the Child's Play remake and has been the part of many other well-known projects over the years.

Mark Hamill has a voice role in the upcoming Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, his ongoing role on Knightfall, and many others. It just might be time for Hamill fans to start discussing other things with the actor on social media or in person. However, The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters at the end of the year, so Hamill will be out doing press for it and then answering questions online from disgruntled fans. Maybe when it's all over, he can get back to talking about Star Wars every other day. You can check out the interview with Mark Hamill below, thanks to the Associated Press Twitter account.
