The red Stormtroopers have finally been confirmed. Lucasfilm has officially unveiled the red Sith Troopers and announced they will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con next weekend. The red troopers have been rumored for months, but this is the first that we have seen them officially. A leaked Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker poster showed the red suits, but a lot of fans believed the poster art was a fake. With that being said, everything from the leaked poster has been proven to be true.

While we have a name and our first look at the Sith Troopers, we still don't really know anything about them. When talking about the look of the new troops, Lucasfilm archivist Madlyn Burkert says, "It has some really unique aesthetics to it." The design is pretty unique, but Burkett says, "it has some subtle ties to previous stormtrooper designs, which I think fans will enjoy discovering." The official Star Wars site released a statement, which you can read below.

"Fans attending (San Diego Comic-Con) (July 18th-21st) will be treated to a new exhibit of trooper armor from across the Star Wars saga, including a first look at the next evolution in Imperial/First Order soldiers: the 'Sith trooper' from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It's a modern and more menacing look befitting its namesake."

The new Sith Trooper from Rise of Skywalker won't be the only suit on display at Comic-Con next weekend. Nine different costumes, all which were used in the movies, will be on display at the Lucasfilm pavilion (booth #2913). Imperial stormtrooper, TIE pilot, death trooper, shoretrooper, biker scout, First Order stormtrooper, First Order TIE pilot, Captain Phasma, and Sith trooper will all be on display for Star Wars fans to check out.

With the Sith Trooper unveiling, it is going to start a whole lot of speculation amongst Star Wars fans. One has to wonder if they will be Force sensitive themselves or if they'll have any extra power that separates them from the normal Stormtroopers. Immediately, the red coloring looks similar to Supreme Leader Snoke's Praetorian Guards, so there could be a connection there. While there are a lot of questions surrounding these new troops, one thing is certain: they look pretty sleek and deadly.

Sith Troopers were introduced in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic videogame as foot soldiers of the Sith Empire, but they were completely different to the new ones in The Rise of Skywalker. The Sith Trooper, like a lot of designs in Star Wars history, looks to be another soon-to-be iconic element of the franchise. Even if some fans weren't into the Captain Phasma character, everybody could agree she looked badass. While we wait for San Diego Comic-Con next week, you can head over to the Star Wars site and take a look at the new Sith Guards.
