Roadside Attractions has picked up the rights to Ashley Judd's new romantic drama, Come Early Morning in association with Bold Films.
The film, which marks the feature directorial and writing debut of actress Joey Lauren Adams, has Judd star as a promiscuous Southern alcoholic. It centers on Lucy (Judd), a hardworking construction supervisor whose life has become a series of boozy one-night stands. The Hollywood Reporter adds when she meets Cal (Jeffrey Donovan), a newcomer to her small Arkansas town who is open to a relationship, she is forced to confront the family demons that haunt her.
Come Early Morning is loosely based on the real experiences of Joey Lauren Adams growing up in the South and parallels Judd's recent revelations of depression brought on by a difficult childhood.
Come Early Morning will hit theaters in the fall.
